A GREATER INFLUENCE

 Due to the CHRISLAND school Saga, I am inspired to write this. Growing up as a child, I was faced with various vices which of course I practiced but thanks to God who didn't allow me go astray. I remember that the first time I tasted alcohol was when my father gave me to drink/taste. 

Yes, read that again even though I  was so young I can still remember. In our present world, it is becoming more difficult to raise godly kids because of the existing negative impact/influence of the media. We find children Going into act that their parents didn't even imagine at their age.

Young people under so intense pressure to go into ritual killing just to become rich with the kind of money their forefathers put together didn't see in their lifetime, boys & girls under intense pressure to commit suicide, commit incest, have sex.... its really getting worse by the day. 

As parents, we have to be intentional and proactive in raising godly kids because God gave you that responsibility.  Prov 22:6

A grandmother called her grand daughter and said she wanted to teach her about men, the grand daughter looked at her and said "Mama, I'm the one that will teach you about men" and guess what? She really knew a lot and had experienced a lot with men even as a teenager! This is the reality of the society we are in, the earlier we understand this, the better for us.  

We  can control the music and movies we listen to and watch in our homes but what about the music played on the streets or would you prevent your kids from going to school? What about the poorly raised kid in your child's class? I was raised in a Christian home and I  remembered visiting my classmate's house and the movies we watched was terrible, ranging from violent crimes to pornography....  , what about the kids your child will meet in church?

 I remember catching two children in my church making out, I mean pants down while service was going on... you can read that again. If you know the kind of church this is, you will be shocked! 

Not to talk of the peer pressure on campus for older children but one thing I've come to realize through the years was the fact that I had a WARRING MOTHER. This was a woman who prayed her husband to Salvation and today he is strong in the faith. This was a womanizer, drunkard, violent person. But all praise to God for the prayers of my mother. I just knew I was under the influence of SOMETHING GREATER..

I have absolutely no doubt about this. She would fast, pray and even carry your matter to her women group in church. Not to talk of regular Bible studies at home, family devotions, corrections with the rod ( including broom , belts and brain-resetting slaps). These are just a few tips. She was a model of true Christian character and I've not been able to find any match since as I encountered others in my life's journey. 

The power of example of godly characters Cannot be overemphasized as children are the fastest copiers in this world. They are watching you seriously and closely. 

Isaiah 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Shared via Bible KJV. This is just one of the scriptures you can proclaim daily over your children, there are various others. You  begin prayers even before they are conceived and a child never gets too old that you say you won't pray for them again. Its one of your primary assignment as a parent or guidian. 

Do you know what your child is doing when you leave the house? In their school? In their playground? I remember a prayer my parents use to pray for me when I say I'm going on a trip then as a teenager 

They'll say I hand you over to the Holy Spirit and I used to wonder why they said this, but guess what? I always lived right wherever I went to not because I was a good girl but because I was under a GREATER INFLUENCE.  (I'll still share more of my experiences growing up much later)

Unfortunately we have today fathers who molest their daughters emotionally and sexually,  where are the Jarius of this age that will run to Jesus to tell Him about their dead/dying  daughters and sons. 

Do you want your child under the influence of peer pressure,  negative society,  bad media, songs , bad movies etc? Or you want to back up your parenting efforts with a GREATER INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit? We need warrior parents in this age.
