Resurrection

TOPIC: THE POWER OF RESURRECTION.

SCRIPTURE: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One thing to know about the resurrection is victory; the Resurrection of Jesus Christ communicates victory.

Today is Easter Sunday; it marks the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. This is the ultimate hope of Christianity.

Now, one thing to know about the resurrection is victory; the Resurrection of Jesus Christ communicates victory.

The Master, Jesus Christ rose in victory. The conclusion of His death was His rise. The Master rose in victory on behalf of mankind. It was victory for mankind. 

Beloved, the victory of Christianity is the Resurrection of the Master. If He was only crucified and buried and did not rise, there would have been no need for Church. Paul the Apostle said that if Christ had not risen, our faith would have been in vain; our profession, in vain; our church going, all in vain. If Christ has not risen, we would have been wasting our time. There would not be an Easter morning Service. There would have been no need to preach if Christ had not risen. But thank God, Christ arose! He is alive! Glory to God!

Now, what is the victory of the Cross? What is the victory of resurrection? 

1. The victory of life over death. 

At resurrection, life defeated death. Death came to bury life, but life triumphed over death.

2. The victory of love over hate. 

With wicked hands, they crucified Jesus Christ. With hatred and bitterness, they crucified Love, but Love cannot be finished by hate. It is the triumph of love over hate. 

3. The victory of good over evil. 

It is not possible, it is never possible, it can never be possible for evil to overcome good. It is the victory of good over evil. 

4. The victory of light over darkness. 

John 1:5 says:

The light shinneth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not. The forces of darkness came to bury light but light dissipated darkness, triumphing over it. 

5. The victory of truth over lies. 

It is the victory of the truth of God’s Word over the lies of the devil. Jesus says, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. The Scripture says that the devil is the father of all lies (John 8:44). Lie came to fight truth but the Resurrection confirmed that truth can never be at the mercy of lie. 

Beloved, you must always understand that your victory was established at the Resurrection. Therefore, refuse to live a defeated life. 

REMEMBER THIS: One thing to know about the resurrection is victory; the Resurrection of Jesus Christ communicates victory.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God to show you details about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

2. Always stand in the victory of Jesus Christ and refuse to live a defeated life.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for what the Resurrection of Jesus Christ offers. On the strength of this revelation, I reject every form of defeat and failure in life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
