Going through life’s hardships is painful—but what may be even more painful is watching someone you love go through them, too. If you’re like me, all you want to do is offer a healing balm to them, something to ease the suffering and give them hope to hold onto. In those moments.
I’ve found the best thing I can offer is support and comfort—the kind that encourages them to hold tightly to Jesus. He’s the One who can truly heal and restore. Is there someone in your life whom you’d like to offer that hope to?
When life rocks us out of comfort and into fear, pain, or confusion, it can be tough to know what to do. How to respond. How to love in the hurt.
I love how Shawn Smucker compares life’s turbulence to a recent plane trip in this moving essay. He says: “What else can we do but cling to one another?
Somehow find hope in the future? Live our lives for others, as we fly through the storm?” I can’t help but agree. What about you? I will hold on to the everlasting arms of God in my lonely moments because his love never fails. He is closer than no other.
Where will I be without the Cross ✝️ 🤔.
