_*And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you (John 16:23).*_

The Lord Jesus taught us to pray in His Name and not through His Name. To pray through His Name is to make Him a medium. To pray in His Name is to exercise the power of attorney He’s given to us (John 16:23-24). Someone might ask, “What then does the Bible mean in Hebrews 13:15, where it says for us to offer to God a sacrifice of praise through Jesus Christ?”

That’s a completely different thing and it doesn’t also suggest making Jesus a medium. It says, _*“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name”*_ (Hebrews 13:15 NIV). First, our understanding of the scripture must go beyond semantics. When it comes to offering praise to God “through” Jesus Christ, one option might be, "Oh Lord Jesus, give my praise to the Father for me." Another could be, "Oh Father, I praise you through Jesus Christ." While these phrases may seem viable to the senses, spiritually, they both are ridiculous. 

For instance, in Hebrews 9:14, the Bible tells us how Jesus offered Himself to God through the Holy Spirit. This means He offered Himself by the power or the enablement of the Holy Spirit. He did it through the agency of the Holy Spirit’s power. In the same way, when we do whatever we do to the Father through Christ Jesus, it’s not about Christ being a medium. It's us functioning in His power and enablement. 

For example, when Paul says, _*"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me,"*_ (Philippians 4:13) he meant that it’s through Christ’s power and enablement that he accomplishes all things. That’s our testimony. Our sufficiency is of Him (2 Corinthians 3:5), which means we function by and through His divine ability. Only sinners need a medium, which Jesus is to them (John 14:6); but once in Christ, you no longer need a medium; you’re united with Christ in God. You’re a member of His body, the church. He is in us, and we are in Him. We have become inseparably one with Him. He gave us His Name to live by, to pray, and to offer our praises.

*Dear Father, thank you for the privilege of praying in the Name of Jesus. I recognize the power and authority you have given me to live and do all things in His Name. I consciously act in alignment with this divine authority, understanding that I am empowered by Christ to accomplish all things. My life continually reflects your will and brings glory to you, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

Since everyone is telling stories these days, let's flow.... Please ignore if you don't like stories but this will bless your life. Trust me 

Sometimes in 2015, I became tired of my Christian experience in my campus fellowship and I was yearning for a better experience with God and brethren/sisters. I was trying so hard but nothing happened, a Christian lecturer/teacher in another department advised/counselled me to join his church.  Moreover my own campus leader has already introduced the lecturer pastor to me for a graphic design job which I did and was paid for. 

Suddenly one Saturday night after series of losses, including notes from my final year lectures in UNN, I felt a leading to Winners Chapel which I have been hearing of before and my family house was even few minutes Drive from the Church headquarters in Ota, Canaanland.

I was amazed by the worship dimension and God's presence at work mightily at GRA Nsukka. I was so blessed that I choose  to make it my Spiritual family.  

I have met various people, Pastors, Deacons, Elders etc that have been a blessing to me in this great Commission as I obeyed in Kingdom service first as a Choir /instrumentalist, Drama coordinator, CCU, Ushering, Welfare distribution member , Homecell minister and then in Protocol unit.

Indeed serving God Pays and God doesn't Dissapoint.... He doesn't play Ojoro like GUC will say. 

May God help you also to keep serving Him in whatever capacity you can. I know I can't remain in LFC forever but I will always be a WINNER 😆... 

Whether I go to mountains or valleys, dungeons or Domes.... Cathedrals or Castles, ministries, business places etc ... God remains my backbone for life. Selah

MONDAY  SEPTEMBER 23, 2024.                    

               "KNOWING WHO YOU ARE “IN CHRIST”"

“I pray that the faith you share will make you understand every blessing we have in Christ.” Philemon 1:6 ERV

IF YOU'RE struggling with self-worth, the answer is knowing what you have and who you are “in Christ.” Paul writes, “I pray that…you understand every blessing we have in Christ.” 

Here are some practical steps you can take to increase your sense of confidence and self-worth: (1) Don’t speak negatively about yourself. Instead of focusing on your weaknesses and flaws, start acknowledging and verbalizing every good thing you “have in Christ.”

 Peter writes: “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him…he has given us great and precious promises. These…promises…enable you to share his divine nature” (2 Peter 1:3-4 NLT). (2) Avoid comparing yourself to others.

 One day Peter pointed to John and asked, “Lord, what about him?” (John 21:21 NIV). Jesus corrected him by saying, “What is that to you? You must follow me” (v. 22 NIV). Instead of comparing yourself with others, work on being conformed to the character qualities of Christ. (3) Let God determine your worth. As His redeemed child, God sees you clothed in the righteousness of Christ; therefore, you are always loved and accepted by Him (See 2 Corinthians 5:21). (4) Keep your flaws in perspective. It’s okay to see where you need to improve, but make sure you appreciate your progress. (5) Discover the true source of confidence. If you place your confidence in God, you can’t help but have a healthy attitude. So, do your best and leave the results to Him.

No Matter what you are faced with, God knows it all. He knows everything about your life and He has the capacity to make something beautiful out of it as you keep following Him daily and in every moment of your life. 

For by strength shall no man prevail,  because when your strength is small, God knows how to give you his strength. His 💪 strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. 

Moving from where we are to where we are expected to be is a matter of time. God has the capacity to make the right moves. Fear not. 

Jesus loves you and so do I.

TOPIC:  CHARACTER – EXISTENCE WITH POSITIVE CONVICTION.

SCRIPTURE: And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. ACTS 24:16.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People who lack character like Esau gain things that are temporal and lose things that are permanent.

It has been established that character is one essential ingredient of life and destiny. Your destiny is at the mercy of your character. To live right is to go up in life.

Now, what is character?

Character is existence with positive conviction, not for consensus.

People of positive character have positive conviction; they don’t live by consensus. Character is living for positive purpose, and not for pleasure. 

Character is purposeful existence, and not pleasurable living. It is existence that is purpose-driven, and not pleasure-driven.

There are people whose lives are driven by pleasure. So, they can do anything as far as it makes them happy. Character is living not just for the immediate, but for the ultimate. There are those who live with only today in mind. But people of character live with tomorrow in mind.

People of character don’t go for temporary gain and end in permanent loss. People who lack character like Esau gain things that are temporal, and lose things that are permanent. 

A man of character will sacrifice today’s gain for tomorrow’s profit, he knows what it means to delay gratification. 

Character means living thoughtfully instead of thoughtlessly. People of character are thoughtful while people without character are thoughtless. To live with character is to live thoughtfully; you weigh your options and embark on the most profitable course of action.

Beloved, are you a person of quality and positive character? 

My counsel is, do not live for temporal gains like Esau? Make up your mind to avoid anything that will affect your character and destiny negatively. 

Remember this: People who lack character like Esau gain things that are temporal, and lose things that are permanent.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Make up your mind to be a person of quality and positive character.

2. Avoid the temptation of living without integrity.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You make me a person of quality conviction. I receive the grace to live right Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
